The recent renovation of MOMA in New York City included a fine dining restaurant named "The Modern". Newmat white lacquer membranes were incorporated into the design of the ceilings for the dining and bar area. Newmat created a custom perimeter extrusion which allows for the ceilings to appear like floating sheets of white glass with a knife edge look to comply with the Architect’s design requirements. In addition, the cavities above the membranes were laminated with fiberglass to increase the acoustical performance of the system. The white lacquer membranes together with the edge detail made Newmat a perfect fit for this Modern Art setting.
