The Samsung Experience, a remarkable 10,000-square-foot interactive emporium of virtual reality and technology, recently opened on the third floor of The Shops at Columbus Circle at the Time Warner Center. Newmat was selected to cover 2,000 square feet of walls and ceilings using its single-layered NewLight system. The lighting effect is accomplished by backlighting the Newmat membranes with ColorKinetics projectors, which are electronically programmed to timely display a wide range of colors and patterns. The architect and the designer successfully utilized both the monolithic aspect and light diffusion of the Newmat membranes for this high-tech space.
