Founded in 1895 in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, the de Young Museum has been an integral part of the cultural fabric of the city. For its recent re-design, Newmat was successfully utilized in this state-of-the-art new facility, which integrates art, architecture, and natural landscape. Essentially used as a lighting element, NewLight double-layered systems were installed using various light sources to backlight the ceilings, including day light, quartz fixtures, and tungsten fixtures. The translucent membranes can be found in Wilsey Court and various galleries.
